Bridge in Jesmond Dene - Original Plein Air Painting
Bridge in Jesmond Dene - Original Plein Air Painting
Bridge in Jesmond Dene
Painted directly on location in Jesmond Dene, Newcastle, this original plein-air painting captures the quiet atmosphere of one of the North East's most beautiful wooded landscapes.
The stone bridge curves naturally through the composition, surrounded by dense foliage, wildflowers and reflections in the water below. I was particularly drawn to the contrast between the cool blues and violets in the vegetation and the warm greens and earthy tones of the landscape.
Rather than trying to record every detail, I wanted to capture the feeling of being there - the changing light, colour and atmosphere of the scene.
This painting was created during my recent artist's journey through the North East of England and Scotland, where I spent time exploring landscapes, studying paintings and gathering inspiration for my own work.
